Cowpanion

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 4, 2026

Cowpanion is built so that your farm records stay yours. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and who can see it. Cowpanion is made by Oğuzhan Akın ("we").

In short: no account, no ads, no tracking. Your records are kept on your device and in your own private iCloud, where we can't read them. If you choose to share your barn with the community, only the little barn you pick is shown to other users.

1. Your farm records

Animals, feedings, weights, breeding and health events, costs, notes, milk logs, reminders and photos you add are stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, they sync through your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. This data is protected by your Apple Account; we have no access to it and never receive a copy.

2. Camera and photos

The camera is used only when you take an animal photo, a progress photo or a camera weight measurement. Measurements are processed on your device. Photos are saved with your records (and synced to your private iCloud if enabled). The app only adds images to your photo library when you save a share card or growth video yourself.

3. Ask Cowpanion

Ask Cowpanion uses Apple Intelligence running on your iPhone. Your questions and records are processed on the device and are not sent to us.

4. Purchases

Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. To check whether Premium is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, purchase receipts from Apple and basic device information (such as device model, iOS version, app version and country/storefront). It does not receive your name, email or farm records. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

5. Barn sharing (optional)

Barn sharing is off until you turn it on. When you share your barn, the following is stored in Cowpanion's public CloudKit database and can be seen by other Cowpanion users:

When you visit or leave a heart on someone's barn, a record is created with your country and, only if you share a barn yourself, your barn's name, so the owner can see who stopped by. Your visit records include the day of the visit. If you report a barn, we receive the barn and the reason you selected so we can review it.

You can stop sharing at any time from My Barn › Explore › Settings › Remove my barn. This deletes your shared barn from the public database, along with the hearts and visits attached to it. The lists of barns you follow or block are kept only on your device.

6. Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. If you share your barn, Apple's push service may notify you when someone leaves a heart.

7. What we don't do

8. Links to other websites

Guides may link to outside sources such as market reports. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

9. Children

Cowpanion is a general-audience farm app and is not directed at children under 13. Barn sharing requires accepting community rules, and parents can use Apple's Screen Time controls.

10. Keeping and deleting your data

Records stay until you delete them in the app. Deleting the app removes data on that device; to remove synced data, delete it in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage. Shared barn data is deleted when you remove your barn.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
